This stunning rug, based on a breathtaking watercolor painting, celebrates Susan Sugar's singular ability to capture the summer skies and waters of the Florida Keys. You can get a sense of the texture of the watercolor paper itself in this dreamy rug. Each year, Sugar taught a watercolor painting workshop on the Summer Solstice through the Studios of Key West. She taught her students to see the summer clouds and sea through a different lens. This is an exquisite example of her ability to capture the majesty of the solstice summer skies.

The collection, 'Dancing On Air' is a collaboration between artist Susan Sugar and Archeo Gallery. Susan Sugar spent much of her career cultivating a daily practice of painting the dawn light in Key West. Each piece here is based on a carefully selected painting and is hand-knotted by women weavers in Afghanistan through the fair trade non-profit organization Turquoise Mountain. 

This collection was created with a deep love and reverence for the Key West landscape in joyful collaboration with our friend Susan Sugar. It is our sincere hope that they bring the same light and inspiration in which they were created into your home.
