Katanga Cross 4

Regular price $60.00 $740.00 Sale

Katanga Province, Democratic Republic of Congo
6.5"H X 7"W

Named after a copper-rich region in southeastern DRC, Katanga, and also known as a handa, the Katanga cross was once used as currency. To create them, smiths poured molten copper into sand molds. Today, we admire them for the sculptural beauty, especially when displayed in a line or in clusters.
