This historic image taken c1880 of the Key West docks includes a birds eye view of the Tift tower. This tower was built by a prominent 19th century wrecker, Asa Tift as a lookout to spot incoming and wrecked ships. The view from this tower when it was built would have encompassed the entire town of Key West. Today visitors to Key West can climb this tower as part of the Shipwreck Museum.
