Excavated in Fossil, Wyoming

52 Million Years Old

Size: 17″ H x 22″ W x 1 1/4″ D (Framed)

Weight: 17 lbs

Three ancient fish create a quiet sense of movement across warm, textured limestone, their dark forms beautifully defined against the pale stone. Preserved for 52 million years and excavated in Fossil, Wyoming, this natural composition offers a remarkable glimpse into the life of an ancient lake.

Quarried from the Fossil Lake stone layer, the piece features a 6¾-inch Diplomystus dentatus alongside two Knightia eocaena, measuring 6 and 6½ inches. The limestone’s irregular layers and subtle tonal variations give the surface depth and character, making the stone as compelling as the fossils themselves.

Set within a dark wood frame, this one-of-a-kind piece brings natural history and understated drama to your wall. Framed and ready to hang.

Framed dimensions: 17″ H × 22″ W × 1¼″ D.
