Just before leaving France, I had a chance to slip away from Paris into the fertile French countryside. It is early autumn and the country air is crisp – mustard colored yellow leaves flutter wildly, whispering of winter.
I visited several small villages in the Cote d’Or region of eastern France and stayed a night with my close friend Susan, who owns a weaving company in the Himalayas. Preserving a vanishing tradition of hand craftsmanship in weaving textiles and fabrics on old wooden hand looms, Susan’s collection of cashmere scarves and throws is breathtakingly beautiful – the quality unsurpassed. Coincidentally, Archeo travels to the Himalayas next. We hope to introduce pieces from Himalayan Cashmere’s line to Archeo’s collection one day soon!
