Marrakech, Morocco

We discovered a few textile art pieces on our trip to Morocco in 2019 that we couldn't resist. Handwoven of unbleached, Moroccan linen, this one is embroidered with motifs inspired by Imazighen tattoos. The original inhabitants of the country, Imazighen (formerly referred to as 'Berber' people) uphold their tradition as masters of many art forms, including textiles. It can be worn, displayed, or simply collected by anyone as passionate about fiber arts as we are at Archeo.
