Although the Qashqai nomads live in an arid, mountain environment, rivers provide them with not only water to drink, but fish to eat. This bounty is celebrated in occasional "fish Gabbehs," which always bring a smile to visitors of the gallery. This particularly dark, striking indigo example is contrasted with vivid, richly-colored fish–-almost like a glimpse of the reef off the Florida Keys!
