Green is the rarest of the Gabbeh colors, as it is holy among the Qashqai people, and it requires a two-step dye process. The green is NOT mixed beforehand. The wool is actually dyed twice, first in gold and then in indigo. Thus, there is always an element of surprise as to what shade of green will appear! 

This example emerged very teal-green, heavy on the blue, in the most beautiful way. A true jewel tone, magnified by the yellow-green on the borders. This one is, for any green lover, an absolute treasure.
