Rarely are Gabbehs "pastel" but this one almost meets the criteria. Pale, icy blue (also highly unusual) alternates with soft, sandy neutrals for an earthy, wintery effect. The orange and red embellishments fade into softer shades on this background. A unique and splendid piece waiting for someone who likes colors more subdued, less jewel-tone.
