Stripes are just cheerful, that's all there is to it. Adding to the fact, Gabbeh stripes are never even or symmetrical (or boring). They're whimsical and fresh, as if they were drawn freehand with an oversized crayon or brush. This handmade quality, created through thousands upon thousands of hand-tied, individual knots defines the Gabbeh form––as does the color-source, plants, such as the indigo you see here. This is what makes a Gabbeh so unique.
